Early Commitment provides an opportunity for schools in select districts to connect with candidates prior to budgets being released in June. In 2026, traditionally-certified teacher candidates who received an Early Commitment from an eligible school were eligible for a stipend of up to $5,000. The Early Commitment process enables you to jumpstart your job search and find the best teaching home for you!
Note that NYC Teaching Fellows, Ed Prep NYC candidates, and candidates currently on NYCPS full-time payroll are NOT eligible for the Early Commitment stipend.
