Yes!
If you have fewer than two years of full-time prior teaching experience, your school will assign a mentor to you to help you through your first year of teaching. Your school-based mentor is there to guide you and support your professional growth and learning. Your mentor will provide feedback on your teaching practices, help you set strong professional goals, and provide you with resources for planning units and lessons. The goal is for you and your mentor to develop a strong professional relationship during your time working together. Check with your principal if a mentor has not been assigned to you by mid-September.
