If you have a NY State Assistant Teacher Certificate:
It’s great that you already have your NYS teaching assistant certificate. This will enable you to work as an assistant teacher in a 3-K or Pre-K classroom in our NYC Early Education Community Based Organizations (CBO) or as a paraprofessional in our NYC Public Schools. These two application processes are separate – see below to find out more about each option.
To apply for assistant teacher positions in our CBOs, candidates must apply through our Early Childhood Teacher Finder (ECTF). Your ECTF account will connect you to 3-K and Pre-K positions citywide and create a searchable profile that is visible to hiring representatives.
*Cheat Sheet* This user guide and web-tutorial will guide you through every step of the ECTF application.
